Hao Wu is massive VPF Chipleader

Oswin Ziegelbecker wins at the Highroller Event

On Friday, the penultimate starting day of the Vienna Poker Festival Main Event took place. In Montesino 187 players bought in (31 of them from Phase 1) and made 37 re-entries. In Wien Simmering, there were 57 participants (30 from Phase 1) with 6 re-entries and  in the evening the Turbo Heat at the Montesino was in addition tackled by 21 players (7 re-entries). Altogether, 31 players qualified for the final.

With Hao Wu there is a superior new chip leader, he could win a mega pot in the last hand with Kings against A-K and then bag incredible 4,195,00 chips.

Yesterday's Chipleader Christos Vettas also managed the double qualification yesterday like Day 1a Chipleader Joonas Hautala. The Slovakian Patrik Ciklamini managed the feat to get through for the third time at the third competition. Each of them bagged a bonus of € 3,000.

After 1,536 Phase 1 entries and 473 Day 1 entries, € 250,640 are in the prize pool which is guaranteed at € 400,000.

Today is the last starting day for the Main Event. Playing options are available at 3 pm and 8 pm at the Montesino and at 5 pm and 10 pm at the CCC Wien Simmering.

Oswin Ziegelbecker wins the Highroller Event

17 players had started at 5 pm into the final and as expected it went with a lot of action to the point.

For defending champion Chris Choi Kyung it didn't work this time, he finished ninth at the end. Also for Day 1 Chipleader things didn't go well, but he got into the prize money and finished sixth of the tournament.

The three of them discussed a deal for a long time, but finally the players could not agree and so the game continued. Soon after, Daniel Koloszar, who had previously taken the Secret Bounty, lost a decisive coin flip and had to take third place on the rail a short time later.

Before the Heads-Up Oswin Ziegelbecker and Alexander Oswald could agree on an ICM deal, but the trophy and € 2,000 were played out. After a hard fight Ziegelbecker had the better end and could be happy about a prize money of € 12,140.
